WindowBox OSL shader for Redshift
With the newly introduced support for OSL shaders in Redshift, it is now possible to use the awesome jiWindowBox shader by Julius Ihle. You can read more at his website, but in short, the shader allows you to create the illusion of having interiors in your buildings, from 2D textures. The shader adds the proper parallax to fake depth and even “objects” in space. As you can see the shader is applied to a simple grid and is very fast to render in Redshift.
I made some minor tweaks to the shader, to get it functioning in Redshift, however all credit goes to Ihle. His website shows how textures are created and used.
You can download my tweaked version of the shader for Redshift here.
I have only tested it with Redshift in Houdini 18.5
Also a thank you to wParallax for the texture I used in the demo.
