Crafting Entire Cities and Blowing up the Death Star: A Journey in Visual Effects
Working as a VFX artist is rarely boring when part of your job description is to blow stuff up, throw people out of windows, and build fantastical worlds alongside talented and awesome colleagues.
I’m excited to present my FX Reel, showcasing a selection of projects I’ve contributed to as an FX Artist. This compilation features work from notable films such as the Palme d’Or winner and Oscar-nominated Triangle of Sadness, Troll—which became Netflix’s most-watched non-English film shortly after its release in December 2022—and The Promised Land, starring Mads Mikkelsen, which premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival.
Throughout my career, I’ve embraced roles as a Compositor, 3D Artist, and FX Artist, with my most recent position being Senior FX Artist. This reel focuses on my expertise in FX, particularly in fluid simulations using Houdini—a field I explored extensively during my MSc thesis on fluid dynamics. And yes, all the explosions are technically speaking fluid simulations.
An early highlight of my career was getting to blow up the Death Star for Star Wars Battlefront II and feeling like a Jedi. Matching the iconic miniature practical effects of the original movie while updating certain aspects was a memorable and rewarding challenge.
Collaboration has been a cornerstone of my journey, allowing me to work alongside and lead talented teams. As a VFX Supervisor on a handful of productions, I guided teams and managed client interactions, ensuring a seamless creative process. Notably, I served as VFX Supervisor on Nikolaj Lie Kaas’ TV series Agent and the Netflix series Skruk.
As a film enthusiast, I feel fortunate to have contributed to such remarkable projects. As I expand my focus into other industries and technologies, I aim to blend my technical skills with a creative approach and continue to innovate.
